Family mourns woman killed by reckless gunfire in Lawrence
Lei-Ala Turner 30, known as a social, selfie loving “party person,” died Dec 27 after a gunshot at 2310 W 26th St in August Place Apartments. Willie K. Franklin, 27, faces involuntary manslaughter and felon in possession charges after police identified him the next day and arrested him Dec 31. Franklin allegedly fired the gun recklessly during a family gathering.
