Longtime Penn House programming director laid off after 40 years
Linda Lassen, director of programming at Penn House in Lawrence, who has served the agency for more than four decades, was told on Friday her position would end that day. Assistant director Larry Woydziak also lost his job. Residents paused to honor Lassen as colleagues described her as the heart and soul of the agency delivering food, clothing, and utility assistance to families in need.
