Drop in Oil Prices Reduces Gas in Lawrence Area
Following a rapid fall in crude oil prices, Lawrence and nearby towns see a general one cent per gallon decrease in gasoline. By morning regular gas sells at 15 cents, high test at 18 cents, ethyl at 18 cents, and other grades at 12.5 cents. Local dealers doubt further reductions are imminent, but expect the one cent drop to persist for a while. The cut is attributed to the oil price decline, not a price war.
