Defendant in fatal stabbing declared incompetent again
Robert Earl Davis, 56, of Lawrence, faces first degree murder and cruelty to animals charges for the fatal stabbing of 66-year-old Daniel Brooks outside a Dillons store and the stabbing of Brooks' dog Bear. A Bert Nash evaluator found an intellectual disability so severe he cannot understand proceedings or assist in his defense.
