Kansas Democrats delay school funding plan announcement
Democratic leaders push back the unveiling of a school funding proposal planned for today to a later date. The plan contrasts Gov. Brownback’s tax relief and funding approach and will be considered in the 2012 session starting Monday. Brownback would end local property tax limits for education and remove need-based funding, while Democrats seek to restore budget cuts and address underfunding cited against court rulings.
