Engineers propose faster way to travel Wichita to Kansas City
Two Wichita engineers unveiled Airtrain Inc a concept for a high speed ground transport moving 66 passengers from Wichita to Kansas City in 45 minutes. The suspended electric airplane like vehicle would run on an overhead monorail with speeds up to 200 mph and test simulations begin at Wichita State University. Proponents contrast it with costly rail and maglev options while noting aerodynamic hurdles and wind effects.
