Wind of Change Sails On After Solo Surgery At Sea
Viktor Yazykov, 50, in the Around Alone race, performed a self surgery on a swollen elbow infection aboard his 40 foot sloop Wind of Change. Doctor Dan Carlin guided the procedure via email from Boston, then monitored progress as Yazykov endured bleeding and recovery while 1000 miles from shore.
