Pipeline From West State Pools Linked To Wyoming Line
A 145 mile pipeline will connect western Kansas oil pools to the Stanolind trunk line from Wyoming. It runs from the Bemis pool in Ellis County to the Stanolind line near Washington County, north of Clay Center, with construction to begin when weather moderates and completion expected by early summer. Budget Aims at a Smaller Deficit
The plan lowers relief spending if business improves, from 1,850,000 WPA workers to 1,350,000 next year, with a warning that a stall in growth could raise relief needs. It also avoids new parity payments to farmers hoping rising farm prices render them unnecessary, while noting possible future aid financed by taxes. President Roosevelt cites higher taxes and money supply as justification.
