Amateur radio clubs fuel Lawrence KY hobby boom
Lawrence residents report an active amateur radio scene with a 70 member Douglas County club led by treasurer Fred Gantz. Kansas University hosts a student group, and more than 300 FCC licensed hams are listed citywide, with over 200 active. Meetings run 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday monthly at Building One, Douglas County Fairgrounds, plus training and license help.
