A Contra spokesman rejected government claims of involvement in an ambush that killed two nuns, including an American, and wounded an American bishop. Sister Maureen Courtney's body arrived in Managua after the attack in Zelaya province as a church pickup truck carried workers from Rosita to Puerto Cabezas. Bishop Pablo Schmitz of Fond du Lac, Wis, said a mine and heavy fire followed the blast.
