Crash report details possible impaired driving in fatal collision
Preliminary information indicates a west bound vehicle crossed the center line and hit an eastbound vehicle. The west bound driver was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries while three occupants of the eastbound vehicle were transported for serious injuries. one eastbound occupant later died. EMS also treated a 37-year-old man for minor injuries, a 52-year-old woman with leg injuries, and an ambulance was dispatched to Stormont Vail Hospital. The LPD is investigating whether impaired driving contributed to the crash.

Shooting in Outhouse parking lot leaves suspect at large
Diepenbrock said the sheriff's office suspects a person was shot during an altercation in the Outhouse parking lot and was taken by private vehicle to a area hospital. Lawrence Police later recovered the suspect's vehicle with Eudora Police aiding investigation. The sheriff's office continued the probe and urged anyone with information to call 785-843-0250.
