Winter Bird Watching Through Window Reflections of Tolman and Coker
Tolman feeds birds despite fear, letting cats out only at dawn and dusk during winter months while birds flock outside her window. Myrtle Coker of De Soto recalls lifelong birdwatching, admiring doves, goldfinches, juncos, chickadees, and a lone crow, with memories of meadowlarks and peaceful mornings. From her window, they also glimpse geese, ducks, and the occasional bald eagle along the Kansas River.
