Embiid Enjoys Christmas Break and Big Win at KU
Seven foot freshman Joel Embiid stayed in Lawrence during KU's Christmas break from December 22 to 26. He joined assistant coach Kurtis Townsend at home for Christmas Eve and Day, sharing turkey and traditional dishes, and watched Anchorman 2 with the Townsend family. Embiid later posted that Anchorman 2 is very funny. He returned to action Monday, contributing 14 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks in KU's 93 83 win over Toledo in Allen Fieldhouse. Embiid has two double doubles this season and is averaging 10.8 points and 6.9 rebounds. He aims to stay aggressive on defense as coach Bill Self requests.
