Hinrich sets sights on Kansas after ISU pursuit
Kirk Hinrich’s recruitment swung from Iowa State to Kansas after Tim Floyd left ISU for the NBA Bulls. Hinrich, who attended AAU camps in Iowa and impressed at Team USA events, committed to KU in October. His family ties to Briar Cliff and shared coaching roots with Nick Collison deepen both players’ move to KU, where Hinrich leads in scoring and assists while adjusting to increased expectations and double teams.
