Judge Grants Custody To Mother Who Killed Infant
Latrena Pixley, 23, of Washington, who admitted smothering her infant daughter in 1992, is awarded custody of her nearly 2-year-old son within 60 days after Circuit Court Judge Michael Mason ruled it is usually not in the best interest to separate a child from the biological mother. Pixley had pleaded guilty to second degree murder, was later convicted of credit card fraud, served 18 months, and was released in November. Sources say hearings were not open to the public.
