Lawrence Public Works prepares for up to six inches of snow this weekend. Assistant director Mark Thiel says crews started preparations Thursday with a liquid brine on roads to aid snow melt and bond breaking between pavement and snow. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory from 7 a.m. today to noon Sunday.
