Corrections officer sues over sex bias at Douglas County sheriff
Douglas County corrections officer Kyle Appleby accuses the Douglas County Commission and supervisor Sgt. Robert Moffitt of sex discrimination and retaliation after a 2015 demotion. Appleby, who has worked for the Sheriffs Office since 2006, filed a federal suit Feb. 17 seeking at least 150000, citing harassment over masculinity and homosexual slurs and a back injury during training. The EEOC charge is pending and no trial date is set.
