Wheat greened up and looked fine across most of the state with good growth in the final days. Windy weather caused only minor injury in some south central counties. Pasturing wheat was general in the western half. Early plowing and disking progressed well, oats sowing was general in the southeast and starting in the Kaw Valley, with some potatoes and early gardens planted in southeastern counties.

Man from Tecumseh Foils Kidnapping of His Children
R L Seward of Tecumseh Neb tried to take his two children Marjorie four and Dorell eighteen from his estranged wife Tressa Seward at the Markley home near Lone Star. He arrived with three men and enticed the children with candy before attempting to drive away in his car. Mrs Seward intervened and seized the children. Seward fled with the car signaling key captured by the flagging bystanders as deputies arrived.
