In Lowndes County on February 25 AP reports organization of a candidate petition led by housewives figure Gelerk of the house. The petition seeks Frank 0 to become a candidate amid a leadership threat within ACC. The veto on a Mo wroi bill prompted renewed calls and signatures from GL members, as a nucleus of legislative action forms around the petition.
Gov. John Hammill of Iowa announces confidence a special effort will pick a presidential nominee at the Republican national convention who favors agricultural interests. He hints at a possible Lowden connection but declines to confirm. The Western candidate movement plans to promote the cause in home districts after the assembly recess next week.

Washington reports the House rejected the Senate’s 2 million cut to the second army housing bill and sent the measure to conference. The House version provided about 8.5 million dollars for new construction while the Senate trimmed it to 6.645 million.

The evidence included testimony about the man being sixty years old and connected to barn and vehicle references.
In Seward Alaska on February 20 the worlds largest halibut fishing fleet of about 670 boats battled a fierce gale and snowstorm. Reports say no word from the fleet and estimates suggest 150 boats may be unable to reach port with nearly a thousand sailors at risk.
