Helen and Rich Elliott appeared in police court this morning on charges of being drunk and disturbing the peace. The hearing was continued to March 8 with both released on $25 bond. Lawrence records its second traffic fatality within 36 hours as Archie Orval Haines 50 of Algona Iowa dies at Memorial hospital after being struck Friday night in the 700 block on Massachusetts street. Effective February 20 Grade I camelback rationing ends, allowing all drivers including light trucks to recap without local board authorization.
