Independence Inc. Wins 30000 Education Grant
Independence Inc. at 1910 Haskell in Douglas County received a $30,000 grant from the U S Department of Education Rehabilitative Services Administration. The funds will create a cross country computer network linking independent living centers and rehabilitation agencies to a bulletin board with up to date information on legislation and disabled access needs. Ray Petty says at least three part time jobs will be created for information gathering and processing, with room to hire more if the project expands.
