Murder charge filed in Harris shooting case
County Attorney Milton P. Beach charged Lewis Troy, a Black man, with first degree murder in the Tuesday evening shooting of Earl Harris. Troy was arraigned, bond set at 7500, and a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 11. Harris died from a gunshot at Troy’s home 1805 New Jersey Street after an argument. Troy told police he acted in self defense.
