Douglas County remains under a winter weather advisory through 6 p.m. as a wintry mix of sleet snow and freezing rain transitions from late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Snow totals 1 to 2 inches with ice under a quarter inch. temps in the mid-20s with near certainty of precipitation. Lawrence plow crews prepared overnight to treat primary streets, residential streets targeted for ice.
