Lawrence High seniors named in PKX Teen Art Exhibition
Lawrence High senior Isabel Klish has a self portrait titled Papule Pustules Nodules Cystic showing a mirrored figure covering acne. Her work and three others from LHS will appear in the PKX Teen Art Exhibition at The Art Effect Trolley Barn Gallery in New York from April 18 to May 17. Oliver Elwell and sophomores Lola Brown and Selah Wolfe also earned select slots for national showcases.

Republicans Fail To Override Tax Cut Veto In Kansas
In the Kansas House the GOP fell short 81 to 42 of the two thirds needed to override Governor Laura Kellys veto of a Republican plan to cut income sales and property taxes. The proposal would have delivered about 1.6 billion in savings over three years but was blocked by the Democratic governor and insufficient votes.

Two Men Charged With Murder After Chiefs Rally Shooting
Lyndell Mays of Raytown and Dominic Miller of Kansas City were charged in the Kansas City shooting that followed the Chiefs Super Bowl parade. Prosecutors say they pulled guns after a brief argument, resulting in one death and about twenty four injuries. The men face second degree murder and weapons charges.
