Capitol Briefing on pay cuts and union rules noted
Kansas legislators debated a 7.5 percent state worker pay cut proposed in House Appropriations. Becki Bohnenblast criticised the climate, while budget director Steve Anderson clarified the governor did not back the cut. HB 2130 would bar labor dues for politics and prohibit union endorsements. Several organizations split on the measure as schedules flagged hearings on education tuition and EPA regulation.
