Today in History highlights Iwo Jima and Burr events

On February 19 1945 about 30000 U S Marines began landing on Iwo Jima and started a monthlong battle to capture the island from Japan. Aaron Burr was arrested in 1807 in the Mississippi Territory, later acquitted. In 1846 Texas elected J Pinckney Henderson as governor. Edison earned a phonograph patent in 1878. Kansas banned alcohol in 1881. In 1942 Roosevelt authorized relocating and intern­ing of U S residents of Japanese ancestry.

Beelzebufo Devil Toad lived with dinosaurs in Madagascar
