Seals Provoke Government Action Off Nevin Coast
A party of Lord Wavertree and companions witnessed seals sunning on rocks then killed five one day and six the next using rifles after abandoning golf. Seals breed in caves near Nevin, prompting the government to consider measures to rid the coast of the nuisance. The common and gray seals have long inhabited British coasts, but not in such numbers as to greatly inconvenience fishermen. The fur holds no commercial value. Six attended the clinic yesterday for ENT care at City Hall. Eskimo cuisine includes a dish of mixed eggs with angelica and crowberries wrapped in a sealskin bag with whale oil.
