Voter registration suspense grows as citizenship proof ruling nears

Kansas and Arizona face federal court action after the EAC declined to modify the standard registration form to require proof of citizenship. As of February 1, 14 918 registrations statewide were held in suspense for lacking citizenship proof, including 454 in Douglas County. Voters in suspense would be registered for federal but not state or local elections if the form remains unchanged, complicating August 5 and November 4 elections. The ACLU also pursues a separate suit against Kobach over dual elections.
