Advised On Plans for Mall Shopping Center Approval
The City Planning Commission recommended approval Tuesday night for plans to build the Mall Shopping Center at 23rd and La Sts with final city commission action pending. The group reviewed elevations and layout, traffic plans already approved by the Traffic Commission, and a parking report. It also recommended rezoning north of New Woods Lumber on West Sixth Street to business use adjacent to the yard. Additional actions included approval of Edgewood Park No. 30 Southridge No. 2 and Stinson Acres final plats and several building code variances by the Board of Zoning Appeals.

LHS Wichita Tie in Awards at State Conference
Lawrence High School and Wichita West each won 13 awards at the Business Education Clubs of Kansas convention held at Emporia State College. Topeka placed third with nine awards, Coffeyville fourth with seven, among 17 schools and 517 competitors.
