Fleetwood to Build Mobile Home Plant in Lawrence Kansas

Hill Case Postponed as Lawyers Withdraw
A jury trial for Andrew Leroy Hill in Douglas County District Court was postponed after his attorneys withdrew. The new trial date is May 10 on the first degree murder charge in the death of Bruce A. Two Additions Bring Lawrence City Commission to Nineteen
With the entry deadline passed, Raymond Vandeventer and J Oliver Harris filed to join the Lawrence City Commission race for a total of 19 candidates. School board candidates remain at 16 as no new filings occurred before noon. Primary elections are set for March 9, reducing city seats from 19 to six and school seats from 16 to eight. Jesse Matthews of 1826 Tenn. was listed in fair condition and Charles Pohl of 1500 W Eighth Ct. is in fairly good condition at KU Medical Center. Mumford Faces Assault Charge in Lawrence
Marvin Mumford aged 29 of 801 Walnut is held in the Lawrence Municipal Jail on assault charges against William R. Docking 19 of 425 Tenn. Docking a Kansas University sophomore from Topeka and son of Gov. Robert Docking said he was attacked by an unknown man in a laundromat at 19th and Louisiana around 1 a.m. Sunday. Mumford was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Monday with bond set at 250 dollars and no trial date yet.
