Bangladeshi detainee in Lawrence awaits ICE disposition
Lawrence business owner Raju Ahmed, 40, detained by ICE for deportation to Bangladesh, remains in custody as officials say a disposition on his immigration case is pending. Another Lawrence resident, Syed Jamal, 55, held in Hawaii, has won another stay of removal and awaits Board of Immigration Appeals resolution.

Fire destroys Copper Leaf Gourmet Foods in Baldwin City
A Monday fire gutted Copper Leaf Gourmet Foods at 215 N Sixth St Baldwin City destroying the two story wood frame building and its contents. Owner Karen Sue Carlson, who moved the business from Lawrence to Baldwin City last year, said she does not yet know the future plans for the business. The fire started about 5 p.m in what had been the living room of the historic house and the cause is under investigation.
