No more charges planned in KU Follow Through case
Douglas County attorney ends case against Kansas University Follow Through program director Don Bushell who was fined 50 dollars for aiding and abetting a false claim. Officials say one charge suffices to deter further offenses while another possible charge remains uncertain. Bushell, 39, is a KU associate professor of human development and family life who directed the program amid travel claims from 1973. He has taught at KU since 1967 and held positions at the University of North Carolina Webster College and the Institute of Sociological Research. He and his wife reside at 825 Mo.

Remains Identified From Rural Baldwin Fire Scene
Human bones found in the ashes of a Baldwin fire have been positively identified as human remains by Douglas County Sheriff Rex Johnson. Two University of Kansas anthropologists confirmed the identity though it is not yet clear if they are Ruth Lefholz the 84 year old resident who lived alone in the burned two story home. Authorities are pursuing dental records to confirm the elderly woman’s identity as investigators wrap up a two day scene examination with multiple agencies involved.
