Worth Named KU English Chair in Victorian Literature
Prof. George J. Worth, KU English faculty since 1955 and acting chair for six months, was named chair of the department by Chancellor W. Clarke Wescoe. A Chicago University graduate, he earned a Ph.D. at Illinois and has published extensively on Dickens Thackeray George Eliot and other 19th century authors. He was a Fulbright Fellow at London 1953 54 and co edited Six Studies in Nineteenth Century English Literature and Thought with Prof. Harold Orel.

C. H. Morris 57, a 1931 KU Law School graduate, died at home in Wichita after a cancer battle. He opposed Canon 35 and fought ABA rules on courtroom cameras. He belonged to St. James Church Phi Delta Phi Law Science Academy and chaired Wichita fund drives for NC CJ. survived by wife Gladys, three daughters, two stepsons, five brothers.
