City commissioners will receive a report on the feasibility of constructing 20 I hangars at Lawrence Municipal Airport located at 1930 Airport Road. The plan considers adding new aviation storage and potential impact on airport operations pending formal review.
Airport officials report a waiting list of area pilots for T-hangar space. A city economic development planner calculates a $1.3 million project that will essentially break even after 30 years, though the first 12 years will require about $64,000 annually in city subsidies to cover bond payments and expenses.
