Oread Inn and city clash over redevelopment pact terms
The dispute centers on an $8 million potential city reimbursement and whether Oread Inn, Oread Wholesale, and associated entities complied with the redevelopment agreement at 1200 Oread Ave. The city halted reimbursements June 9 after an audit alleged tax irregularities and claims of improper reimbursements. Oread Inn demanded return of $429,593 plus withheld payments and tax reimbursements, while alleging city objections and seeking assurances of confidentiality for future tax returns. The firms accuse the city of aggressive tactics likely to trigger litigation and defend actions as legitimate under the agreement and audit findings.
