Flory Dairy to End Milking Era in Douglas County
Scott and Randy Flory, long time dairy partners, plan to end their 60 year dairy operation after a sale to Arizona 6 000 head facility. Morning milking at 3 am feeds 150 cows while afternoon shifts reuse labor. They cite labor difficulty and shrinking family dairy farming as key factors, noting the end of a beloved rural tradition.
