Whited Crowned World Poker Champion in Reno Showdown
AUSTIN Texas dealer Ed Junior Whited claimed the Super Bowl of Poker title at the Sahara Reno, beating 25 top players over three days of no limit Texas hold em and seven card stud to win a $130000 grand prize. He parlayed two pairs into victory as Anchorage farrier Perry Green folded with a weak hand. Whited, who has three dozen years in poker and six children, plans to invest his winnings in his business and warned players to avoid risking rent or grocery money.
