Judge dismisses part of ex KU rower's Title IX suit
A federal judge trimmed Tudor Tackett's Title IX case against the University of Kansas, ruling the university cannot be liable for the rape occurring before it, and that alleged policies tying female rowers to football events and off campus parties do not link to the incident. The judge kept alive other claims including deliberate indifference to the rape report and coach comments, and allowed an amendment to add a transfer detail about the involved football player.

The Kansas Court of Appeals held that financial records of Kiowa County Memorial Hospital are subject to the Kansas Open Records Act even though a nonprofit operator runs the facility under lease. The decision affirmed a lower court ruling that Great Plains of Kiowa County Inc. cannot shield hospital records, and it upheld a $500 fine for denying the records request.
