Kansas group seeks tobacco settlement records in Topeka
Ten months and five thousand dollars into a records request, Kansas Action for Children says it has not received the information sought from the attorney general. The group filed in May for details on a multistate tobacco settlement funding early childhood programs, per the Topeka Capital Journal. Major tobacco companies sued states over fees intended to curb competitive disadvantage. Kansas and others settled last year.
