KU diversity push leader arrested on campus
Kansas University student Kenneth Grant, 20, a vocal leader of diversity efforts and former Black Student Union president, was arrested Friday on charges of possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance at Jayhawker Towers. KU police forwarded the case to the district attorney for review. Grant had helped lead a November town hall disruption by Rock Chalk Invisible Hawk, and has said she and friends faced racial slurs and a gun threat at a Halloween party. Lawrence police are investigating that incident.

Locations picked for downtown bicycle corrals
With approval from Lawrence's Bicycle Advisory Committee three downtown bike corrals are set for final City Commission approval. Two spaces at Eighth and Massachusetts and at 100 E Ninth would be replaced by corrals with inverted U racks for up to 10 bikes each. A third corral would occupy an unallocated space in front of the Lawrence Public Library at 707 Vermont. The plan aims to boost bike visibility as a downtown parking option.
