Lights brighten KU pathway with new pedestrian signals
New pedestrian signals at 12th and Tennessee and 12th and Kentucky streets aim to boost safety and deter crime. The project cost about 307000 dollars with funding from KU student fees, the federal Community Development Block Grant and city funds. Concrete brick crosswalks remain to be finished at Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio streets. Elise Higgins, a 2010 KU grad, helped spark the idea while with KU Student Senate.
