Changes Sought In Liquor Laws
TOPERA in Gov. George Dorking's new state liquor control director says he is taking aim on a $75,000 a year loss in revenue. William Murphy plans a two point attack to repeal the law allowing two quarts of liquor to be brought in legally from another state. He will alert agents for a drive next week to halt regal transportation of larger amounts of liquor into the state. He notes Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri ban Kansas liquor, while Oklahoma remains dry. Repeal could ease stopping illegal shipments and arrests are expected. Local law enforcement cooperation will be sought if needed.
