Exceptional life: Dorothy Rumbaugh and her son Gary
Dorothy Rumbaugh grew up on a Jefferson County farm and raised Gary, who has Down syndrome. She cooked for inmates, helped run a charity for disabled Jefferson County residents, and later sustained a family faith life with Bible study and community ties. They credit faith and perseverance for Gary's long life, now 57, seen as exceptional.
