Hotel project begins near east Lawrence interchange
Construction starts on a 48 room economy hotel just south of the Kansas Turnpike east of Lawrence. Rob Phillips, local developer, says weather delayed work and an opening is now aimed for July 1. Edmondson Real Estate Construction joins Phillips on the three story project with 2% acres still for sale for a convenience store or fast food site. Randolph Pohlman of Kansas State University will resign to join Koch Industries in Wichita as director of employee development.
