Two Passenger Trains Rerouted on Santa Fe
Early morning Santa Fe passenger trains were diverted through Ottawa after four freight cars derailed by the DuPont plant at Tecumseh near Topeka. The incident occurred about 2 a.m. and the main line reopened by 10 a.m. A Santa Fe spokesman said the freight caused the derailment by splitting a switch, meaning the cars went through the switch the wrong way.
