Reds slow Berlin truck traffic
The Russians slowed intercity truck traffic again and accused the West of warming the cold war to Berlin. Weekend traffic moved freely through Helmstedt, but today eight trucks per hour cleared in each direction on the east west highway as Soviet guards tightened inspections. By midmorning about 40 trucks waited to enter Berlin. American officials note a reasonable clearance rate of about ten Berlin bound winter cargoes per hour.
