General Hale’s brigade seized Singalon waterworks after a sharp engagement with Nebraska and Utah troops. One Nebraskan killed, three wounded. Dr Young wounded and captured. Filipino losses reported heavy. rebels driven back toward Manila. American signals and transport strained. many civilians deprived of public conveyances while relief efforts aid wounded.
Navy General Otis reports from Manila that over 20 000 insurgents around Mantle provinces wield rapid Krupp guns and Mauser rifles. He says insurgents suffered heavy losses with about 4 000 killed wounded or captured and 500 prisoners, while waters works and pumps were damaged but to be restored within a week.
