Two young Lawrence men were charged in County Court with grand larceny and destruction of private property after incidents during the night. Eugene F. Coffelt aged 21 and Billy Ray Kelch aged 19, both arrested about 4:30 a.m., allegedly stole clothing and car accessories from a vehicle parked at the River Club north of Lawrence on U.S. 40 and cut the convertible top to gain entry. They were held in the city jail until about 9:45 a.m. before being moved to the county jail for booking.
