Slightly Injured Haskell Adviser Suffers Facial Cuts
Haskell Institute student adviser Jack Culberson suffered facial cuts when the car he rode in overturned on Highway 40 near Topeka while returning to Lawrence. His wife and friends in the car required no medical treatment. Culberson was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and released. He said the accident occurred after attempting to pass a truck as another car also passed. Minor weekend collisions in the city involved several drivers at various streets and locations.

Anton Brees will give a 20 minute dedicatory recital for the University of Kansas World War I Memorial carillon on May 27. Dean Thomas Gorton announced the selection, noting Brees at Bok Singing Tower since 1929 and praising him as a top carillonneur.
