Air Force Academy ends two week honor code cheating probe
Air Force Academy officials say the two week investigation into classroom cheating is closed. 105 cadets resigned for violating the honor code, while more than 2 400 cadets were cleared of involvement. Major General Warren lauded cadets who stood by the honor system and called the case a cancer within a small group. 40 of the resigning cadets were athletes including 29 football players.

More Needed in Pool Project Gathers Members
The Eudora public swimming pool project reports 100 memberships, half of the required 200 for an FHA loan. Dr. Lea Lauber says the community drive accepts members from outside Eudora, with early support from Lawrence and De Soto. Membership is $25 with free or reduced swimming for holders and families. A loan of 60 000 to 70 000 is possible if 200 members are reached. Plans include a diving area and a wade in section, with lessons and potential sites narrowed to three and possibly a nearby ball park if space and funds permit.

Leavenworth Guard Depot To Be Built On Missouri River
Rep. Chester Mize announces a Coast Guard depot will be built this year at Leavenworth on the Missouri River as home port for a 75-foot buoy tender with 16 personnel. Open House At New Agriculture Offices In Douglas County
Douglas County residents toured the new combined U S Department of Agriculture offices in the Malls Shopping Center during an open house. The ASCS SCS and Farmers Home Administration offices were open for inspection with refreshments. Over 60 visitors registered by noon. The offices moved from 611 Vt St and the courthouse basement to the new facility, opened in early January.
